New Patient Registration & Booking Policy
At The Bowel Clinic, we are committed to providing high-quality specialist medical care in a safe, respectful, and professional environment. To ensure fair access to our services and compliance with legal requirements, the following policy applies to all new patient bookings

1. Registration Requirements

All new patients must complete a New Patient Registration Form prior to their first appointment.

A valid credit card is required at the time of booking to secure the appointment.

Credit card details are stored securely in accordance with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS) and Australian privacy legislation.

2. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
​
We appreciate that circumstances may change, but late cancellations or non-attendance affect access for other patients and result in significant costs for the clinic.

Cancellations made more than 7 days before the appointment – no fee applies.

Cancellations made within 7 days but more than 48 hours before the appointment – a cancellation fee of 50% of the consultation fee will be charged.

This fee is not eligible for Medicare or private health fund rebates.

Cancellations made within 48 hours of the appointment, or failure to attend – the full consultation fee (100%) will be charged.

This fee is also not eligible for Medicare or private health fund rebates.

Rescheduling is considered a cancellation unless sufficient notice is given
3. Payment

Fees will be charged automatically to the credit card provided at booking, in line with this policy.

All outstanding fees must be settled before future bookings can be confirmed.
4. Privacy, Confidentiality & Data Management

The Bowel Clinic complies with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and relevant State/Territory health records legislation.

Personal and health information is collected only as required to provide safe and effective medical care and to meet legal obligations.

Information is stored securely and may only be accessed by authorised staff.

5. Agreement
By booking a new patient appointment with The Bowel Clinic, you acknowledge and agree to:

Provide accurate personal and medical information,

Secure your appointment with a valid credit card,

Be bound by the cancellation and payment terms outlined above, and

Consent to the collection, use, storage, and disclosure of your personal information as described in our Privacy Policy.
